Vacation Rental Near Disney with Fast Wi-Fi for Remote Work — 1 Gbps Fiber
Taking a “work-cation” to Disney means combining park days with remote work days. That only works if your vacation rental’s Wi-Fi can actually handle video calls, 4K streaming, and 5-device simultaneous load. Most Kissimmee rentals have 100–300 Mbps cable internet — not enough for a real work trip. 450 Burma has enterprise-grade connectivity.
Our Internet Stack
- Primary: AT&T Fiber, 1 Gbps symmetrical
- Router: Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) mesh, multi-band, covers entire 3,200 sq ft home
- Backup: 5G cellular modem (auto-failover if fiber drops)
- Wired: Ethernet jacks in main living areas
- Latency: <5 ms to major US data centers
- Packet loss: <0.1% under normal load
What 1 Gbps Actually Means for a Working Guest
Video calls
4K Zoom / Google Meet / Teams for 4+ simultaneous people in the same house with zero degradation.
Large file transfers
Upload a 5 GB design file to Dropbox in ~45 seconds. Upload a raw video project to cloud in minutes, not hours.
Streaming
4K streams on 5 devices simultaneously. Nobody fighting over bandwidth.
Cloud gaming
GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PS Remote Play — all work at full bitrate.
VPN and SSH
Full-speed to corporate VPNs. No stuttering on SSH sessions, Git pushes, or remote desktop.
Where to Set Up Your “Office”
Main dining table
Big enough for 2+ laptops, natural light, access to kitchen for coffee refills.
Outdoor pergola
Shaded, dual fans, string lights. Great for afternoon calls when Florida heat peaks inside.
Master Suite
Door closes for privacy. Adjustable split king if you need a reading break. En-suite bathroom.
Game room / side living room
A second “quiet” workspace if someone else is on a call in the main area.
Work Schedule That Actually Works at Disney
- Days you work: 7:00 AM–11:00 AM (4 hours before park heat peaks)
- Pool break / lunch: 11:30 AM–1:00 PM
- Park afternoon: 1:30 PM–9:00 PM (fireworks)
- Async catch-up: 9:30 PM–11:00 PM if needed
This gives you 4–5 hours of focused remote work plus a full park evening every day.
What Could Go Wrong (And Our Backup)
Hurricane outage
Kinsta-like guaranteed uptime doesn’t exist for residential internet, but our 5G backup auto-fails-over within ~30 seconds if AT&T fiber drops. You’ll stay on your call.
Power outage
The house doesn’t have a generator (yet). Florida power is 99.9% reliable; outages are typically <15 min during summer storms. Plan around thunderstorms for high-stakes meetings.
